Same here Victoria except I call them doitspes and progress payments. My guarantee is more of a policy its not up anywhere, and it hasn't been intentionally abused. All happy customers some just take a little more time / hand holding to get clear on WHAT they want exactly. It's when I've given a flat quote on a job and the client has had a fuzzy vision that I've been bitten (in the way of putting in way more hours than anticipated).The only refund I've given was recently when I managed a job using a system I don't usually and the outsourcers weren't up to parr. I sucked it up and lost my hours, refunded what the client asked for and will never again take on a job that I couldn't do myself if I chose to.
